PRIDE Packager — by Paul H. Kim · https://paul-h-kim.com/software/pride-packager

1. Drag "PRIDE Packager.app" into your Applications folder (or anywhere you like).

2. Double-click it. Because the app is free and not registered with Apple, macOS
may say it "cannot be opened" or "cannot verify the developer" the first time:
     - Click Done (or OK).
     - Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click
"Open Anyway" next to PRIDE Packager. Confirm with your password.
     - On macOS 14 or older you can instead right-click (Control-click) the app,
       choose Open, then click Open.
You only need to do this once.

3. It needs Python 3.10–3.13 from https://www.python.org/downloads/macos/
(Anaconda's Python and Apple's built-in Python 3.9 are not used). If Python is
missing, the app tells you and offers to open python.org.

4. The first start installs the Python packages it needs into
~/Library/Application Support/ (internet needed once, a minute or two).
To make mzML peak lists from Thermo .raw files it downloads ThermoRawFileParser
the first time it is needed. The app never logs in to PRIDE or uploads anything:
you upload the finished folder with PRIDE's own Submission Tool.

The app opens in your web browser. Closing that browser tab quits the app.
Everything runs on your Mac; nothing is uploaded.
